Tangie, also known as “Sunva,” is a popular sativa marijuana strain. Bred by DNA Genetics’ Sour Tangie is an 80% sativa cross between East Coast Sour Diesel and Tangie. Sour Tangie brings together the classic Sour Diesel aroma with Tangie’s creative, elevating buzz and strong citrus overtones. This sativa has two different phenotypes that express either Sour Diesel or Tangie bud structures and effects. Sour Tangie grows quickly in its vegetative cycle and finishes flowering in 9 to 10 weeks indoors.
Sitting at roughly 80% sativa (and 20% indica), Sour Tangie is a cannabis plant that produces small, tightly bound petals dusted in kief across long buds. The flowers smell of a strong pungency mixed in with the bitter citrus of lemon and lime peels. When burned, Sour Tangie’s initial flavor resembles sour fruit peels followed by an aftertaste of dirt and diesel.
Lab results show its potency can reach as high as 21-22% THC.
This strain is known to bring energy with its high, so it’s a good morning or afternoon strain. It can, however, induce relaxation as well. Sour Tangie is recommended by some consumers for depression, exhaustion, stress, chronic or minor pain, though they also say it can stimulate a powerful case of the munchies, too. Common side effects from Sour Tangie include red eyes and cottonmouth. Those sensitive to sativas may find it can cause anxiety, paranoia, or dizziness as well.
